Author Interview: Interview with Hadar Fadida

Hadar Fadida was born many years ago in a quiet suburb Nottingham, England.  Her writing vision however was born three years ago in a noisy delivery ward in Beersheba, Israel.

On seeing her grandson she could utter only one word-SPECTACULAR. This blossomed into a whole multi-product adventure line with an interactive website, 4 books, sticker books, tee-shirts, happiness-in-a-box kits and other items that remind us that this is an absolutely, undeniably, definitely a fabulous life.

Ramona: How many books have you published so far?

Hadar: I self-published on create-space, but it was a spectacular disaster so we won’t go into that.

Ramona: What motivated you to become an author?

Hadar: Looking in the mirror and seeing that time is marching on if I don’t do it know I never will.

Ramona: Tell me more about your latest book – Spectacular Me

Hadar: It started out as How to be a Spectacular Boy in 7 days but I heard the murmurings of disgruntled girls so the book became for all spectacular children wherever they may be.

I had so many ideas for this book that it exploded. Each idea landed safely and became a new little book. The new generation will be Spectacular You, Spectacular Us and Spectacular Them.

The series follows the psychological development of a child from ‘all about me’ introspection through getting a sibling and onto world domination!

Ramona: What brought you to write this book?

Hadar: I saw that when my grandson was born he saw the mass elation caused by such major achievements as sneezing. His little face took on a confused look as if to ask “moi?”.  I wanted to reassure him that he didn’t have to compete with any of the other creatures he beheld whether they swam, flew, roared or walked upright. He just had to be him.

Ramona: Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Hadar: Finding time. Have you all noticed that there are only 24 hours in a day-outrageous!

Ramona: What book or books have had a strong influence on you or your writings?

Hadar: Oscar Wilde, he wrote for children and adults- I love his wit.

Ramona: In what ways do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?

Hadar: I try to think outside of the box which isn’t difficult because I can’t actually think within it.
